Today is my birthday. Today I am 26. I know that’s not OLD, but I feel so OLD. Not OLD as in almost ready to retire, but just adult. I feel immature and unprepared for my age. It freaks me out how close to 30 I am just because I feel like I don’t have enough life experience to be 30. If you would’ve asked me 10 years ago (oh geez, I was 16 TEN YEARS AGO. Wasn’t that 2 years ago?) I would have assumed I would be married to my high school boyfriend with a million babies and a successful business. How naive. And I’m sure 10 years from now I will think the same thing of my 26 year old self. So here’s to the last year of my “mid-20’s”.
Over the weekend Blaine insisted on taking me on a little birthday weekend mini-vacation which I was hesitant about, but I am so happy we went. We went down to LA, ate at our favorite sushi place, played mini golf at Castle Park, a place I visited dozens of times as a kid, and then had dinner with all my best friends. It was the best (pre)birthday I could have asked for.
